The kitchen is the heart of most family homes but if not designed properly they can be dangerous for kids. When designing the layout of your kitchen make sure you have workstations that allow you to watch the kids. Kitchen islands are great for this and having your sink by the window is also great for when the kids are outside. This one is obvious but keeping knives and other sharp objects away from kids is extremely important. To keep them out of reach you could store them on the wall above your countertops. The kitchen doesn’t have to be completely off-limits to kids, get them interested in cooking by creating a ‘kids cabinet’. It can store all of their dishes and eating utensils as well as some kid-friendly cooking equipment. Go for durable, stain-resistant material when designing your kitchen. It’s best to stay away from cabinet doors with grooves and opt for heat-resistant and nonporous countertops. If possible add a small seating area where the kids can help with cooking or sit and do their homework before dinner
