00:01:31

Over 360 African elephants have mysteriously died in the last 3 months in Botswana in Southern Africa. The bodies were found clustered around watering holes with some even falling on their faces.Elephants spotted nearby looked weak with one walking in circles unable to change its direction. The government in Botswana is testing samples from the dead elephants but a cause of death has not yet been found. The dead elephants were found around the Okavango Delta which is home to 10% of the country’s 130,000 elephants. Some conservationists believe the cause of death could be an elephant-specific parasite or even coronavirus. What I would like to emphasize is that this has the potential to be a public health crisis, Niall McCann, Director of Conservation at National Park Rescue in the UK.African elephants are classed as vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature's red list.A 2016 survey found the elephant population in Africa decreased by 30% between 2007 and 2014
