According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple is exploring new health features for AirPods. The new features may include using the earbuds to take your temperature, monitor your posture and improve your hearing. It’s unclear if the hearing function would differ from the existing Conversation Boost feature available on AirPods. These features “aren’t expected by next year” and they may never even be rolled out to customers. Apple has previously shown interest in using AirPods for hearing assistance. however, the FDA has not approved them for this purpose. The company was also reportedly looking to add additional sensors to the Apple Watch. This supposedly includes monitoring blood pressure, temperature, sleep quality, blood oxygen, and blood sugar.
