A third of adults have fallen out with someone after misreading text messages, according to a new study. The study surveyed 2,000 adults and found that 40% of people have spent hours questioning the tone of someone's text. The study also claimed one in five adults had misinterpreted a conversation after getting the tone of the message wrong. The study found that messages from work colleagues were the most likely to be overanalyzed. 79% of participants agreed that real face-to-face time was the best way to talk to someone to avoid misunderstandings. With 23% saying they have waited to say something to someone in person to avoid being misunderstood.
