Bullied as a child, Musk escapes into the world of computers and business. At twenty-four, he becomes a millionaire after selling Zip2, a company he started with his brother. He leverages his newfound wealth and founds x.com, which merges with a competitor to become PayPal. Musk creates companies like Tesla Inc. and SolarCity in an effort to reduce global warming through sustainable energy. Stating that he would like to die on Mars, he founds SpaceX with the goal of establishing a human colony on the Red Planet. His latest endeavor, the high-speed transportation system known as the Hyperloop, demonstrates his visionary skills. Although he predicts that competition for A.I. superiority may lead to World War III, Elon Musk continues to push the boundaries of modern technology.
